Probably about as good as we could do with such a low profile head coach. We're probably lucky to have him, actually. I really don't know how talented an OC he is, but you'd have to think he's at least competent. Also, you have to think he's really motivated to finally prove himself as an OC. I doubt he's looking for a soft spot to land by the beach like that quitter, Chip.
He was a good recruiter when he was here 20 years ago. And even though he's known as kind of a rough guy that can rub people the wrong way, that's probably less of an issue in college, where players won't push back as much.
Also, he's a well-known name so it will give the program a little boost in the media and in recruiting.
We'll see but this doesn't sound that bad.
