My major issue with NIL.

First, I disagree that players should get paid. It’s still college sports and amateur. I could go on forever on why I believe CFB is completely different than the NFL including Universities do not get profits. They get revenue and redistribute.

But I’ll use you as an example just as a vague explanation. I’ll call you HBM for short. Let’s say you are a potential recruit or an existing player for UCLA and complete stud in football. As a Bruin or whatever number you are, I do not believe you should be able to get paid. I still think it goes against the intent of college athletics and recruiting. Now as HBM the person, I completely agree you should be able to earn money. Sell real estate, guest star on Yellowstone, do a condom commercial, or whatever as long as you are in no way representing the program, university, colors, etc.

I will admit that I really don’t know much about how these collectives work, but they seem to me they are getting into recruiting violations.

And to be honest, chances are I’d prefer to pay some of these female athletes to represent my brand than some football player.

Just my take on NIL as a whole.
