Arizona has the worst record in the NL (if you exclude the hapless Nationals), and SD the second worst. Colorado is below .500 as well.

So, with the unbalanced schedule, you could make a case for the fact that the Dodgers have the best record in the NL, and the Giants are in wildcard position because they're in the weakest division. (I actually predicted that the 2nd place NL West team would win the wildcard this year - just not specifically which team :-)

On the flip side, Colorado has won 11 straight. If they continue to win at a high clip and join the Giants in the above .500 range, that would provide more evidence for your case.
