I say "did" because hopefully it's over. But the Dodgers scored two runs or less in eight of their last fifteen games. Predictably, they lost seven of them. However, they won all seven other games, including a couple wherein they only scored three runs. Meanwhile, the Rockies have won eleven in a row, but hardly caused a ripple in the standings. (They more or less exchanged places with the Padres.) And the Giants have played just about as well as they can -- and managed to close all the way to seven games.
Actually, the Giants now own the third best record in the NL, believe it or not. If they were in the NL East, they would be only 2-1/2 behind. And they would be leading the NL central. And the Rockies are just about even with the other third place teams. So you really can't say the Dodgers are in a "weak" division anymore.
