The Sunday Scrimmage seems to be a Chesney innovation.
On Sunday after a game, players who are on the scout team or didn't play much get a chance for an extra practice. After some drills, they run a scrimmage. Scout team players get a chance to run UCLA's plays, instead of those of the other team.
Afterward they name a Sunday star. Two of them were Jalen Saint Paul and Leland Smith, both of whom earned time in the games.
Pretty cool innovation.
