Thinking further about Cronin's apology.

First off, I'm glad he apologized. I believe it felt sincere.

The part that just doesn't completely make sense to me or just doesn't ring entirely true is the part where he says he thought Jamerson had took a cheap shot at the MSU player and he was upset at him because UCLA doesn't do that.

Even in real time Jamerson's foul didn't look like a cheap shot. It didn't look like he was trying to hurt the guy. It looked just like what it was - Jamerson foul the kid while trying to stop him from dunking the ball.

To me, it looked like Cronin just lost control. Maybe he was just upset at the drubbing the Bruins were taking? Maybe he was playing up to Izzo? Maybe he was embarrassed by how bad his team was playing and wanted to divert some of that embarrassment? I have no idea. But his exclamation sounded like he was trying to emotionally put himself in the best possible light because a grown man losing control in that manner is also just more embarrassment on top of all the other embarrassments.

Cronin would be wise to get some help. Maybe he can do it on his own. But however he does it he really needs to grow and understand that this kind of behavior is totally on him. It's not circumstantial - it's him.

Having said all of that I'm still glad he apologized. I thought what he did he did well, but perhaps just did not go far and deep enough. Just my opinion. I hope we see an improved sideline demeanor today. That would be a good sign.
