I too saw it in real time and it never looked to me to be either a cheap shot nor a flagrant foul. It looked to me what it was - a hard foul, but clean. It always looked to me that he was going after the ball.
Like I said in an earlier post, if I'm playing in a game like that and someone is going to dunk on us I'm not going to let him. I'm not going to try and hurt him, nor take a cheap shot, nor cut his legs out from under him, but I'm not going to let him dunk.
If the kid is going to go hard to the basket up by 20+ points late in a blowout, then he should expect the opponent is going to go hard as well. The kid was upset that he didn't get to dunk. If there was anything bush about that play it was him. He got knocked down. Almost everybody almost always get knocked down when they drive to the hoop. What did he expect? I think he over-reacted and I think the refs played to the crowd and over-reacted as well. And then Cronin topped them all was his over the top inappropriate over-reaction.
