Chip wasn't renewed. Jarmond showed him the door. As of Dec 2024, Chip would've become an hourly employee. When you don't renew someone, that is tantamount to firing them. Chip was fired. Get it now? Jarmond soft-fired Chip, so Chip started looking around. What would you have done? You'd have done the same if you wanted to keep working.
The timing suggests that Chip was going to ride it out. He didn't get or declined the NFL jobs he looked at. Then, at the last minute, the tOSU OC job popped open. Chip took it.
Good for him. He deserves better than Jarmond and Ucla. They both suck.
