ND's best win of the entire season was beating 20th ranked SUC, which frankly wasn't all that impressive. Their only other victory over a ranked team was a win at Pitt.

Bama had wins over #5, #11, #14, and #16, and had the same record as ND going into the SEC Championship game where they lost to #3 Georgia, who they had beaten earlier in the year, handing the Bulldogs their only loss of the season.
