I get that Dorrell wasn't received well and not the level HC you'd want at UCLA. I followed Neuheisal when he coached at Colorado and UW. He was good at taking good programs and doing less. Even at UCLA, he had a NC OC, a DC who dramatically changed UCLA's defense, highly rated recruiting classes, legitimate coaching salaries, and I can't remember anything of substance UCLA football put on the field. UCLA also suffered arguably the worst loss ever to $c. While Neuheisal has this charisma people like, I don't think I could think of anyone who could compare in doing less with more.
For me, I don't think I was ever as bored at a UCLA home game as I was on a consistent basis when Neuheisal coached.
