And I'm not sure I'm correct either, but...
If UCLA were to have fired Kelly, then UCLA would owe him $8 million or $4 million or whatever the number was. BUT, Kelly resigned while still under contract, and therefore HE owes UCLA the $1.5 million -- which OSU is going to pay. The bottom line is that I don't think it was a 2-way $1.5 million; I think the figures were different based on who terminated the contract early.
