Leopold not coming. He turned down many better jobs than ucla the last 2 years. He’d be a great hire. I think he’s making north of 5/yr., but he loves Lawrence for whatever reason. Maybe he has a kid in high school, he’s of that age. He seems to be a Midwest guy.
Why do you want to pay someone 3mm? If someone isn’t worth 7mm why would you even consider him? Thr lowest salaried coach in the 10 makes 4mm, some guy I’ve never heard of who’s the Purdue HC. We paid Chip 6mm/, our revenue is gonna hockey stick and you want to pay a new guy less than 1/2 of that? Makes no sense to me. It also lowers the bar for staff. How do you pay the HC 3mm and staff north of 1?
I hope Jarmond takes BIG swing. Call Vrabel. Call Pete Carrol. Then Leipold. kleimsn is good too. Otherwise, I’d hire Shaw as interm and make a good sound hire after doing proper diligence.
