About a year ago, I did that very thing. I had promotion and relegation too. That’s why I use the Premier term. You are going to have the AFC (Big 10) and NFC (SEC).
I also think these players are going to get paid by the schools. I think there is going to be a commissioner (Nick Saban, would be my choice, but that’s not gonna happen) and a CBA. The problem with promotion and relegation is you are still dealing with “kids”. Obviously you can’t keep paying the players in the American Football Conference like the Premker conference. I’m not sure how one stops transfers in that situation, unless you keep citing the CBA.
The other problem is Title IX. That’s why I made my post below about how cfb needs to extricate itself from all thr other collegiate sports. You can’t be paying the football team a ton of $$ and not pay the womens lax team for legal reasons. Rationality doesn’t matter because that’s the law.
