presents for a promotion/relegation system where a team who ended up high in the standings one year due to a class of seniors could then topple the following year when the seniors leave, which would place more incentives on transfers than may be good for the sport. So you may need to tweak conditions for relegation enough to allow teams to drop a little in the following year but don't immediately dump them and give them a chance to rebuild. Which may mean you might be better off tying relegation to a cumulative record of the past whatever many years, 2 or 3.
