I disagree about making the divisions stochastic. They need to be set. College football needs its rivalries. Bama had to play Auburn and Tennessee. Ohio state must play Michigan. UCLA and sc must play and there are dozens more.

The setup is more NFL with promotion and relegation. When I brought this up a year ago, there was someone who made a very strong case against the promotion/relegation concept. I can’t specifically recall his nuances, but I do like the concept for the reasons you noted plus it makes the second tier better too. I think I was at 30 some teams. I wish I knew how to search historical posts. There are plenty of Dbags who love to search my old post history to find an error I may have made, but they clearly won’t do so to be benevolent to the board.

Where we really disagree is on the $$. These players are going to get paid by the schools (and have NIL opportunities too) and become employees. That’s expensive. The television money will be astronomical. Universities are not, nor should they, turn that down. Maybe it’s like the NFL and the players get a % of the revenue and the remainder goes to the schools in equal amounts. The economics will be hashed out in the cba. Once again, I just don’t know how that works with title IX.
