does it mention eternal torment for bad people. Even the concept of eternal bliss is questionable. It was only when the Jews came under the influence of Greek culture, did some Jewish sects buy the idea of heaven around the time of Jesus. I don't believe mainstream Jews today believe in the afterlife.

It is questionable even Jesus believed in hell. Gehenna, which he talked about was a literal place in Jerusalem where trash was burned. Was it metaphor for eternal torment? It's not as clear as fundamentalists would have you believe. My church does not believe that.
