--Bruce said he talked to some UCLA assistant coaches over the past 2 weeks. Re: NIL $, one AC said "We have zilch, we have no $". We do have some NIL $ but per Feldman, "UCLA is competing against teams with NIL warchests of 8 figures and from what I was told, UCLA is not even in the 7 figures. So that's an uphill battle..." Ya think Bruce??!
-Bruce had good things to say about DeShaun, said he's well-liked inside the program and by former players and he's a disciplinarian. He also said that "Given the circumstances, of all the people I've heard were in the mix as serious candidates when this started, DeShaun is probably as good a hire that they could've made." Did "serious candidates" exclude coaches that we reached out to but they passed (assume there were some)? Anyway, Bruce does like DeShaun as our HC.
