UCLA baseball is quite an enigma. They have had several recruiting classes among the tops in the country and mediocrity to show for it.
There's a fair chance UCLA won't qualify for the playoffs.
I believe the head coach fired his assistant coaches last season and there still hasn't been marked improvement.
To be fair though the Bruins have lost a ton of close games this season.
I'm just wondering if the coach is a good recruiter but not a good coach for the talent he acquires.. U C Irvine has become a major powerhouse in the region along with Fullerton.
I am looking forward to a marquee game next week as Cal State Bakersfield plays at UCLA. Although it's a long season for the first year Roadrunners, they have beaten defending national champion Fresno State three times this seasona and also defeated Cal Poly SLo UCSB and SJSU.
