This is shocking to nobody. I suppose you think billionaires stash $500 million in their home safe or better yet in their mattress.
Rich people invest their money. Rich people don't want to sell their assets to raise cash to secure a bond in order to appeal a bogus judgment by some hack state judge. Rich people subjected to such treatment (and I'm only aware of one such person subjected to treatment this extreme) will avoid doing this at all costs, which is what Trump is trying to do.
It's not rocket science.
