UCLA screwing over its fans for decades by increasing fees and ticket prices, while providing an absolute crap, apathetic on-field product to watch in a crap oversized dinosaur of a stadium, where for years, so many of the games were scheduled at TV friendly/fan unfriendly times that left a whole lot of people questioning why they were still doing it, until most of them just decided that they weren't going to do it anymore. And I know a whole lot that are thrilled the team doesn't suck anymore, but also aren't particularly interested in going back to spending their Saturday's in Pasadena.
Yes the team is better, but the stadium they play is only the grandaddy of them all in the sense that it's f'in old, senile and dying, and no amount of geriatric care band-aid slapping is going to save it. TV's have gotten bigger and better than ever, and the Rose Bowl, well, it's still plenty big, but still the equivalent of an old black and white TV with rabbit ear antennas
And yeah, not many of the fans that were tired of being bled dry to watch crappy teams at the crappy Rose Bowl were super fired up to watch the same crappy team play in low level bowl game, a Bowl game that was so highly esteemed amongst the entire college football landscape that it decided to shutter itself after the 2025 edition.
