increasing prices.

What they all have is traditions and generational support. We dont. I cant tell you how many tailgates that Ive been to where I get introduced to 3 generations of alums or "next generation" of alums. College football is what the do on Saturdays. Its part of their culture.

How many UCLA alums do you know that have parents or children that are alums. I can count 0 parents or grandparents, 1 sibling, and 4 nieces/nephews. to my knowledge, thats a lot.

And the on campus stadium argument gets poo-poohed here a lot but its what draws students, especially freshmen. It also draws alumni. The only times I am on campus anymore is a once a year basketball game. I would love to have a tradition of tailgating on campus. that would lure me back for more than one game a year.

Attendence is a cultural thing way less than money and product.
