A lot of reasons but the big ones for me are the following.
* Poor media deals and the rise of cable and ESPN. This impacted the entire Pac-10.
* Poor AD's. We have had a string of horrible ADs starting with Dali's.
* Focus on academics. I think after Young left, the importance of sports was deemphasized and there was a push to make us like Harvard.
* Moving to Pasadena. Think this hurt us in the community recruitingwise.
