The exact same BS they were describing from Chip - as in you have an idea about how someone in a certain position that you have never been in should act - i.e. young black guys in the NFL should all be super humble and appreciative of where they are and not have egos or want to flaunt their success, otherwise they will be arbitrarily judged against the one guy who typifies how you believe they should be acting.
Shady McCoy retired ranked number 22 on the NFL's all time list for most rushing yards and 30th for most rushing TDs. So not sure about your claims of him being 1/10 the player that Barry Sanders was.
Similarly, Desean Jackson finished his career 39th in total receiving yards and also 39th in yards per reception at 17.6 per catch.
Just because these guys don't adhere to your notion of how young men are "supposed" to act doesn't change the FACT that they are among the all time greats in NFL history at their respective options and had earned a level of respect in the building that Chip felt he was wholly above acknowledging. And TBC, they weren't expecting their coach to suck up to them, they simply took exception to him repeatedly going out of his way to disrespect them. Yet, in your world, they shuold have just kept their heads down and said, "yessir, yessir"
