He will likely be fired given all the roster changes and tougher conference. Once he's fired, his reputation as a coach is in serious jeopardy. He's been interviewing and not getting an offer. If he's fired, I doubt he will get a job anywhere comparable to the OSU OC job.
On the flip side, he's protected at OSU. Loaded roster, likely mediocre Michigan team next year and a HC that will take care of recruiting and NIL stuff for him. It's an easier job, yes less money but at his age, sometimes taking it easy is the way to go.
I doubt Chip will be a HC anywhere ever again. Just waiting for retirement
