My take on the Jamerson thing.

First off, I think Cronin is wilting under the pressure he's starting to feel. He hates losing. I hated to lose. I get that. But Cronin takes it to another level by being a jerk about it.

I think if he hasn't done it already he should apologize to Jamerson. He embarrassed him publicly but apologizing privately I think is okay. He should have stood behind his guy in the moment and protected him. If he had an issue with what Jamerson did he should have waited till in the locker room and had his talk with him there.

The guy at the presser - well Cronin should have been the bigger guy and just laughed it off, but he's never the bigger guy in that kind of a situation. A simple - I couldn't care less what the MSU student body does - would have sufficed. No, true to the nature of a jerk he wouldn't let it slide and brow beat the guy who clearly had no power in a situation where Cronin had all the power. Now he's a bully.

None of this looks good. IMO Cronin owes his boss, the university, the students, and his player an apology. I'm not sure that's going to happen though.

Now to the actual play. It looked like Jamerson went for the ball. The game was over and the MSU guy was going for an unnecessary dunk. It wasn't a complete breakaway. He had the advantage but was guarded. IMO the better thing for the guy would have been to secure the ball and just pull up. If it were me I wouldn't let a guy have the dunk which really felt like an added insult onto the drubbing the Bruins were already taking. It wasn't necessary at all. If I was Izzo I think I might have pulled that player and had a talk with him.

I remember Tyler Hansborough of North Carolina getting clocked for doing the same kind of thing against Duke with just seconds to go in an already won game. You do that kind of thing and you should expect to get at least a hard foul. Hansborough got more than that, but that's what the MSU player got - a hard foul. As a coach I'm not sure I would want my players to just let that guy go up and dunk on us - not hurt him but stop the shot. That's what Cronin had been asking for all season. and when he got it he went berserk cause he can't control his complex emotions. Cronin needs to grow up. I like that he's feisty. I like that he doesn't like to lose. I like that he's hard nosed. I don't like that he can be an out of control bully and jerk.
