were taken by the top 15 teams and the Bruins (with 4 portal players) had 2 of those 5. (#323 and #358). #11 Maryland had 8 portal transfers and 2 rated over #300 (#367 and #368). #9 LSU was the only other team with a player rated over #300 (#335).

However, IMO, those subjective ratings are pretty meaningless once you get past the top 20 or so. When I think of players who were rated poorly, I go back to a guy with many super bowl rings. As the 199th player taken in the 6th round of the NFL draft, Tom Brady showed how far off some of the athletic evaluations can be.

In more recent times, a player that comes to mind is Wisconsin's John Tonje. Not rated out of HS by any of the major rating services and rated 296th in the transfer portal prior to finally transferring to Wisconsin. And we know how that turned out with him being one of the top players in the country this past season.

With that said, even though the type of things I described in the examples above don't occur that frequently, I still believe there is always a chance for the Bruins to come up with one of those diamonds in the rough in either Brown or Booker. Hopefully, that turns out to be the case.
