Cronin has been unable to attract talent to UCLA. His success has largely been with players that he inherited from Alford. Since coming to UCLA, he has reeled in only five sought after players (Clark. Watson, Bona, Bailey, Andrews). To be successful, he will need to bring in 2-3 high level players per year. Last year, for the first time he had a lot of departing players and replenishing the roster was a complete whiff. He seems to make a big effort, but has not succeeded. I don't know if it is because of NIL, academic requirements, reputation (Howland redux), negative recruiting by opponents. This is concerning for Bruin fans.
