What Was The Do-Over?

Just got back from the game.

The PA system at the Rose Bowl is awful. When it's making enough noise to be heard, it echoes like Robert Hayes calling Manny Mota and Pedro Borbon in Airplane! (the movie). The confusion on the kickoff after the last Bruin TD was obvious, but the reason for it was not.

I have never seen the refs call for a do-over in 50 years of watching football. Maybe it happens all the time, and I have just been lucky enough to have missed it.

I could not hear whatever was announced to explain the do-over.

Can anyone fill me in on why the refs called a do-over on that kick-off?
