I went to the game on Saturday. Most of my high school buddies went to Cal so great excuse for us to get together and tell stories about the old days. Really fun time and I’ve been on losing streak @ Bruin games going back awesome. I live in Seattle so I try to catch roadies were I can.
Anyway, I spent a lot of time watching the UCLA sideline. So many graves over the past 5-10 years I just could tell from watching plaster/coach and coach/coach interactions that we were a hot mess. At LSU (decent game) and @ UNLV most recently. This game I liked what I saw. This game summed very organized with intentions focused and aligned to a team that knew what it was doing even when things weren’t going well in the field.
So here’s my question: on the drive when Cal scored to tie the game 24-24 Chesney and the DC ((Hitschler?) were beside themselves about something and were letting the refs know it. During the TO they were all over the officiating crew. Couldn’t tell if they thought UCLA was being held or what but Chesney was in the refs faces. Anyone know why?
It was such a difference from any one of the last 4-5 UCLA coaches that it was noticeably different. Anyone know what that was about?
I loved it. Chesney appeared to be working the crew and my thought was “this is what our coach is supposed to be doing.”
Anyone else see?
