The guys returning are small in number and are guys who did not make the pros. It also seems fair with the new 5/5 rule that guys like Hendrick should get a 5th year.
I don't understand why it bothers people that players get paid. Child and teen entertainers get paid all the time. I mean, who cares, and why?
The portal just means teams like UCLA can rebuild more quickly, and gives options to players buried on the depth chart somewhere. The same options coaches like Lane Kiffin have to go from team to team.
Now, of course some changes need to be made to the system, but personally, I haven't been as excited for a UCLA game in at least a decade.
I think a lot of this reform push is being made by the SEC, who has been knocked back to #2 now that paying players is done above the table. A commercial I just saw pushing reform literally said at the bottom of the screen that it was paid for by the SEC.
The talking point is Save College Sports, but it seems like they don't need much saving, because we are all still watching.
