A lot of what you're saying goes into my suggesting Perk

first, to get the disagreement stuff out of the way. Seems to me, you're shifting the discussion from "if he wants to" to "if he's coaching somewhere now." That's a fair shift, you just didn't say it in the prior post.

You know me, re HFC, every time round, I'm saying "we should hire someone that is a HFC." That should go for position coaches too (maybe a little bit less so, but ya).

But, as can be inferred from your post (Foster, Neu), UCLA is handling this regime change in the way they always do - the primary criterium appears to be availability. The second criterium appears to be a strong UCLA connection (though, the new OL guy would be an exception re Criterium #2).

Perk, if he's interested, I assume would do the work. Maybe that's a big assumption. But, if we are looking at 1) guys thqt are available, 2) guys that have a strong UCLA connection, then Perk was a very good running back that worked to some extent or another with our present football coach. After Foster, I don't know who the 2nd best running backs coach in the NCAA was last season, but I doubt we get him. I'd rather have a motivated Perkins than either a guy that has never played running back/coached running backs or having EB doing double duty in his first year as OC under a first year (extremely inexperienced) HFC.

But, as always, that's just, like, my opinion, man. Just a fat guy on a couch.

Peace.
