at the all the articles reasoning why Eric Bieniemy probably has not been selected as a Head Coach in the NFL. But I personally am not against his hire as our OC as these incidents were many many years ago.

One interesting thing is that my WAF donor friend is also friends with one of the biggest donors at Ohio State and before they hired Chip as OC, Bieniemy was one of the candidates considered but after finding all the dirty laundry on him, this donor protested and their AD decided to remove him from the candidate list. And my WAF donor friend who is pretty influential with the UCLA AD said he already voiced his disagreement with the hire so there might be a hold up on the announcement although he thinks they will go ahead with his hire.
Among the biggest accusations that will not look great are the rape scandals at Colorado by football players that he admitted he was aware of but did nothing to prevent back around 2001. Although I can understand he was caught in a bad position as a young coach back then, the optics are bad when we've already had Steve Alford who got grilled by the media for his actions at Iowa. But EB did pass UCLA vetting for the RB coach position in 2003 so I assume he'll pass this time as well.
I'm a bit conflicted now on whether this hire will go well with our current players and with recruits and their parents considering his past and the recent reports out of Washington of creating a bad atmosphere between him and the players as the OC there even though Mahomes, Kelce and others have praised him as a coach. Maybe it's all overlooked if he does well as an OC playcaller (see Michigan's sign stealing overshadowed by their NC win) but something to ponder as his upcoming announcement as OC seems imminent.
