This ties in to your first point, but this seems like a very RUSHED hire. Why the exigency? Hiring the right coach is much more important than a few additional players leaving.
Who on this roster were we so desperate to retain? The only 2 I can think of are Garbers and Toia. Other than that....do people really want to go from UCLA to Boise or SDSU or to Houston? I dont see many Bama, Ohio State level talents....
