How did we go from signing extremely coveted guys like Jaelan Phillips, Ellis McCarthy, Eddie Vanderdoes, Josh Rosen, Priest Willis, Owa O., Myles Jack, Zach Whitley, Chris Clark, etc. etc. to all of a sudden mining Johns Hopkins, the Ivy League, and competing against lower FBS teams for players? Are you telling me that UCLA hired Chip Kelly for $6 million a year and spent huge sums on his nutrition program, just to tell him "you can't recruit the guys Mora did"? And that Chip, who had massive bargaining power when he was hired, couldn't negotiate some concessions with regard to how he could conduct recruiting?
That's absurd.
