We'd basically be without a head coach for 9-10 months. He'd have to start recruiting very late in the cycle, which would kill yet another recruiting class. The Chancellor thing was an excuse to not fire a sitting coach. But now that the coach has quit, it's easier to convince the powers that be that we have no choice but to hire someone. Given all the talk of Chip wanting out, you'd think UCLA at least has a list to work off of.
I'd lower Interim odds now to < 5%.
