I say this grudgingly, ‘cause I can’t stand Alabama, a State propped up by an 80% black football team, a State that also openly defies Supreme Court orders to provide equitable voting districts for its black citizens. Yeah.
That’s for MLK day.

But for Byrne, the facts speak for themselves. He pulled the trigger on
Nate Oates for basketball before slo mo Dan Guerrero could even get a donut out of his holster. Byrne had the good sense to turn down the offer to replace Larry Scott as Pac-12 Commissioner, though had he so deigned, we’d probably still have a conference. And he sensed the value in Jedd Fisch, who UCLA could’ve had for a song …..if it hadn’t caught Chip Fever …
Now, with nary hesitation he snatches up DeBoer.

When our little radio company produced a regional Arizona FoxSports radio show covering the Arizona schools, we had him guest when he was Wildcats AD during our Pac-12 tourney remote and you could tell he was somebody who just “got it” .
Wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t have DeBoer all scoped out and wrapped up on his backup pocket list as soon Fisch caught fire this year.

And leave it to the State of Alabama, to “hired” a freak football coach for Senator….
