We’ve heard glowing reports about European prospects before. I think most of us were genuinely excited about the influx of international players heading into the 2023–24 season. There was a lot of hype surrounding guys like Berke, Vide, and, of course, Mara. We all know how that ultimately played out.
This new prospect seems more comparable to Mara than the others, but I’m still going to take the hype with a grain of salt until I see him in an actual game. From the videos, I can definitely see the talent and the upside, but I also saw flashes of that same potential in the players mentioned above.
One thing working in his favor is that he’ll be entering a much better situation. In my opinion, the team should already be good, so he won’t be asked to carry a major load right away—he’ll just need to find his role. That wasn’t the case with the 2023–24 team, which was essentially starting from scratch.
To be clear, I’d still rather have him than not.
On another note, when do the summer runs start? I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts if you’re able to get out there.
