suc and UCLA are pretty similar in a lot of ways, mainly that both were supposed to be a lot better than they actually are. As much as I hate to say it, I don’t really think we’re better or worse than them. They have two Quad 1 wins, we have two Quad 1 wins. They've had some injuries; UCLA has had a big one. Another thing they have in common: both teams have about five Quad 1 games left.
Along the lines of what you pointed out, the frustrating part for us is that four of the five Quad 1 games we have left are against the top four teams in the conference, while suc only has one of those teams left. That alone puts them in a much better spot. Add to that the fact that the three teams right behind us in the standings all have wins over us, and things get dicey fast.
If a bunch of teams end up with the same record—which feels very possible—the Bruins could easily land ninth or worse. Especially if we don’t sweep suc, and I wouldn’t put money on that. I’ve got it as a split.
