There is a post on an 'other sports' board on BRO claiming Fisher is gone also.
Don't know the poster. He also criticized Kelly Inouye-Perez for not changing and included a knock on the staff's coaching of hitting - the latter seems odd considering the team had three outstanding hitters including Pola, Grant and Woolery - four All Americans on one team and was one of the last six standing while being, along with Oklahoma, quite a young team this past year.
That's absolutely all the information I've found.
You talk about one pitcher doing it all for a team throughout the WCWS - doesn't happen often but it does happen. Canady this year, last time it happened it was Garcia for UCLA in 2019.
OTOH, this year's team seems to have run into the same problem as our Women's Basketball team last season - too much talent leading to playing time frustrations, if not with the players themselves at least with their families and posse. All four freshmen left Women's Basketball after last season looking for more playing time. This year's Softball had three very talented underclass pitchers - Tinsley, a junior; Terry, a sophomore; and Fisher, a freshman.
Now we're hearing reports that two of them are looking to move on. When a kid has what may be just a four year window to make significant money playing their sport - talking softball here - she's looking to make what she can in the time available to her. Combine that with the diminished patience of youngsters today and it really sucks for those of us who follow the sports of our loved school but that's where we are right now.
Sure hope the reports are wrong and they get it together - next year could be huge. We need at least two of those three pitchers to return
