Pitching for Baltimore, he had 20 saves out of 23 opportunities. ERA of 2.40, opponents' BA is .219, and has a 3 to 1 K/BB ratio.
But most importantly, he is LEFT-HANDED. The Dodgers left handed relief up to now had been Leach and Ohlman (both with ERA almost 6) and Elbert, who has been up and down to AAA. Now if Kuo can really come back, he and Sherrill will give a lot of balance to the bullpen.
Plus, if the Dodgers want to use Sherrill that way, he can be the eighth inning set-up man to Broxton's finisher. With Troncoso/Belisario/Kuo, and don't forget Mota, maybe the starters don't have to go more than six and the bullpen still won't be "overused." We can have two "rotations" of relievers: Belisario/Troncoso/Broxton (what had worked so well before the All-Star break) and Mota/Kuo/Sherrill. Troncoso aside, I believe the combined BA average against the other five is something under .200, or close to it.
