It'll take one for the UCLA's baseball team to get a bid to the regionals. Losing two out of three to Cal and Fullerton pretty much eliminated the Bruins (26-26, 14-10) from post-season contention, despite their third-place Pac-10 conference standing. If they ran off four straight wins against UCI and Arizona State, would THAT earn them a place in the regionals? Probably, and pilgrims would flock to Jackie Robinson Stadium to round its mysterious basepaths forever thereafter.
Now what is more likely is that Washington State (28-22, 16-8) and the team it just took two of three from, Oregon State (31-16, 13-11), will join Arizona State (41-11, 19-5) in post-season play.
