Long Beach State has a losing record (25-26), so UCLA's recent win won't impress the NCAA selection committee. Your scenario of a win over UCI and one out of three at ASU would still leave the Bruins at .500 (28-28), not likely to earn them a bid for post-season play. Last year, Oregon State was denied a bid, and their record was 28-24 and they had won recent back-to-back CWS championships. I'd like to see the Bruins in the regionals, but really, a split in their final four games and a 28-28 record is simply not deserving of that honor.
