Big Wednesday
Car Wash
Foxes (about unsupervised teenaged girls in the late 70's. Not salacious like the description sounds)
Shampoo (made in 1975 about LA 1968. It's wild to me that things were changing so fast that there would be a nostalgia movie made about what things were like ..... 7 years ago. Who cares what things were like in 2017? Same with American Graffitti. Nostalgia for 10 years earlier)
Decline of the Western Civilization
Urban Struggle: the Battle of the Cuckoo's Nest
The Big Sleep

Aloha Bobby and Rose captures an only slightly romanticized (because of the great music) version of mid-70's LA to the t.

And, Body Double captures it's era (early 80's) perfectly.

There is a very little know, but cult classic movie called Doll House that, to me, nails mid-60's LA. I wasn't here in the mid-60's, but it's close enough to 1971 that I vouch for it. Same for what I recall of the first Billy Jack movie (can't remember what it's called).

And, there's a movie with Claudia Cardinale that seems right on. Can't remember the name of it.

And, Boogie Nights. Except for the killing part, I feel like I've lived that scene at the end with the firecrackers in the house. Ya, the movie is about the porn industry, but take that element out of it, and it's a pretty good time capsule for that period.
