I came to know him as a key player in Oregon, a fascinating band from the '70s that was loaded with talent top to bottom. He worked with a bunch of other players too, where he always maintained his jazz meets chamber music approach. He was a true original and a giant even if he was never quite a household name.
I've always thought this was a particularly striking piece with a distinctive riff. (He's the guitarist.)
