Something I was thinking about...

...is: I don't think FSU has recovered from being passed over in 2023.

They built a dream season. Undefeated RS (12-0), and then won their Conf 'ship game...so 13-0. But relegated to the Bullshiit Bowl, where they battled for the "Most Least Irrelevant" mantle, and, to no one's surprise, they shiit the bed in SPECTACULAR fashion v Guh.

And that hangover hungover into 2024, where they turned over the roster and DJU'ed to a magical 2-10 season. Oof.

Did FSU make the right decision playing in the "Most Least Irrelevant Bowl"? Or would they have been better off pulling an ND and sitting this dance out to rest their feet?

Football is not a contact sport. Bball is a contact sport. Football is a collision sport. Every play you're on the field could be your last. Not only last play, but last moment. Why play a nothing burger game when there is no incremental money or reputation boost on the line?

I think some FSU guys came to the conclusion, "Dude, we're screwed. We're in this weak @ss conference that has no pull. We just completed the perfect season, and we STILL got passed over. FSU is never going to get invited. I'm gonna go to a school where I have a chance to play in the CFP if we win 10+ games."

I'm interested to see if ND guys reach the same conclusion. I wouldn't, if I were them. I think this year is an anomaly. More often than not, ND is going to get the benefit of the call in these scenarios.
