In looking at the JMU box scores this year, especially the L to Louisville, but other close games, their defense was outstanding, and they actually outgained Louisville in that game (by about a yard, by the box I saw).
We really do want Hirtschler to be a part of the package, IMHO.
I also took a look at their roster, and they do have a number of OL/DL with eligibility remaining, but I couldn't tell if they were starters, etc, so I couldn't tell if an upgrade on the lines like Cignetti was able to do immediately (and was the foundation for what they have accomplished) would be possible.
Even so, the late(r) transfer window this year should help him reload that way (but, as we saw under Kelly, constantly trying to fill holes on the lines with transfers tends to leave depth issues, as well as foundation issues, which really contributed greatly to our issues the past few years).
