Classy move. I liked the comments about Chesney stabilizing the program after Cignetti left and took over 20 really good players with him. And that Chesney "will be great with donors."
"From a JMU fan, you are getting a good one! I think he will do really well at UCLA. He's a great figurehead for your football program and will be great with donors. When Cignetti left (only two years ago), he gutted the JMU program by taking over 20 really good players with him. Most of these transfers became star players at Indiana. Chesney did a great job immediately coming in and stabilizing a program that could have went downhill quickly.
Big thing to watch for JMU and UCLA is where does his DC (Colin Hitschler) go. Some JMU fans are hoping he gets a shot at JMU HC but UCLA should be hoping he comes with Chesney. When Cignetti left JMU, he took most of his staff with him and I believe that continuity is what allowed the quick turnaround at Indiana. Colin Hitschler has JMU defense playing at a top level without any notable stars. I think he could do very well with some more talented players to work with at UCLA."
