Overpaying on incentives is not being cheap.
We pay you $1.25 million as base pay.
We pay you an additional $500,000 for your first win. $650,000 for the second win, and so on.
You win 10 games and you'll get your base pay plus $11,750,000, a total of $13 million. How is that cheap?
But if you only win 2 games, you pocket $2,400,000. You think that's underpaying a 2-win coach?
Win 5 games and you walk off with $5,250,000. Bowl qualify and you get $6,500,000.
