Acquire Vols' AD Danny White and send Jarmond to Rockytop. White's bio is three pages of impressive competitive and financial success and program building at Buffalo, UCF and now Tennessee. Jarmond's bio is one short paragraph citing his 14 years as a scrub assistant at Michigan St. and tOSU but concludes: "the first African-American athletic director in Boston College history." Congrats.
Their total compensation packages are similar with White earning a bit more than Jarmond, but their track records of performance are strikingly different. White is an alert, up-to-date, energetic and imaginative leader who's built NIL fundraising and successful programs at three successive stops. He's doubled UT athletic revenues from $140mm to $280mm in four years (!) and raised record amounts of NIL, proudly declaring that Tennessee is an NIL leader with its "foot on the gas" investing back into its athletes. Jarmond is none of that. Jarmond shrank from NIL and has done nothing since his arrival other than to compound the department's gigantic debt, now around $200mm. He, and Ucla which stands behind him, are complete failures competitively and financially. Jarmond's background doesn't fill the room. He's the wallpaper.
