I think you are kidding yourself.

The jobs to family members and other ways to funnel dark money to players will simply get larger.
Even if we are assuming that we are playing 75% of what the top teams are paying, you have to assume that we would be smart about staffing.
What in our head coaching/AD hires in the last 50 years gives you a sense that we are "smart." We like to hire baseball players to run out FB team for decades rather than Bruins who run the most successful small college FB program in Boise St.
